White Maltipoo (with pictures)
A white Maltipoo is a Maltese and Poodle mix with a solid white coat. White is one of the most common Maltipoo colors because the Maltese parent is always white. A full grown white Maltipoo usually weighs 5 to 20 pounds, and with regular grooming and daily face cleaning their coat stays bright and clean.
White is one of the most common colors for Maltipoos because of the white color of the Maltese and because white is also one of the most common Poodle colors (although poodles have many color varieties). The white coat on a maltipoo is very gorgeous but for obvious reasons it can be prone to stains such as tear stains on the muzzle and feet stains from playing outside. A good level of care and maintenance is required to keep a white coat shiny. Learn more about keeping your Maltipoo’s eyes clean.
Are White Maltipoos Rare?
No, white Maltipoos are not rare. Every Maltese is white, and white is a common Poodle color too, so many Maltipoo litters include white or cream puppies. A pure bright white coat with no cream or apricot tint is a little less common, and most families look for a white coat paired with dark pigment: a black nose, dark eye rims and dark paw pads.
Full Grown White Maltipoo Size
Coat color does not affect size. A white Maltipoo grows just like any other color. Size depends mostly on the Poodle parent. Toy Maltipoos usually weigh 5 to 10 pounds and Mini Maltipoos usually weigh 10 to 20 pounds, standing about 8 to 14 inches tall. Most Maltipoos reach their full size between 10 and 12 months old.
Will a White Maltipoo Puppy Change Color?
Most white Maltipoo puppies stay white as adults. Some puppies that look white at birth have a light cream or apricot tint, often on the ears, that can become more noticeable or fade as their adult coat comes in between 6 and 18 months. Learn more about Maltipoo color changes.
White vs Cream Maltipoo
A white Maltipoo is pure white, while a cream Maltipoo has a soft ivory or off-white shade. Both colors need the same care, but light stains tend to show a little more on a pure white coat.
How to Keep a White Maltipoo Coat Clean
Wipe the face daily. Gently clean around the eyes and mouth with a soft damp cloth to help prevent tear stains.
Brush every day or two. Regular brushing removes dirt and prevents mats that can trap stains.
Bathe every 3 to 4 weeks. Use a gentle dog shampoo. A whitening shampoo can be used once in a while, but not every bath.
Keep the face trimmed. Short hair around the eyes and muzzle stays cleaner and dries faster. See our Maltipoo grooming guide for haircut ideas.
Wipe paws after outdoor play. A quick wipe keeps grass and dirt stains off white feet.
